How do I get started with INDPayroll?
Sign up for the Free plan - no credit card required - and you are running payroll within minutes. You can upgrade to Essentials or Ultimate whenever your team outgrows it.
Do I need a credit card to sign up for the Free plan?
No. The Free plan requires no payment details at all - it is free forever for your first 10 employees.
Can I import my existing employee and payroll data?
Yes. Essentials and Ultimate include payroll and attendance import tools, so you can bring in existing employee records without manual re-entry.
How long does setup typically take?
Most teams run their first payroll within 10 minutes of signing up, using the ready-made salary templates included in every plan.
Pricing & billing
How does per-employee pricing work?
Essentials and Ultimate charge a simple per-employee monthly rate, so your bill scales directly with your team size. There are no hidden base fees or setup charges - you only pay for the employees you actually run payroll for.
What is the difference between monthly and annual billing?
Annual billing is paid upfront for the year and works out roughly 16% cheaper per employee per month, compared to paying monthly.
Why is the Free plan limited to 10 employees?
We sized the Free plan to match how our smallest customers actually use it - enough room to fully test the product with a real team before committing to a paid plan.
Can I upgrade or downgrade between plans at any time?
Yes. You can move between Free, Essentials and Ultimate at any time; your next invoice is prorated automatically.
Are the prices shown inclusive of GST?
Plan prices are shown exclusive of GST, which is added at checkout. Add-on prices are also shown exclusive of GST.
What happened to the Enterprise plan?
We folded it into Ultimate. Everything Enterprise used to offer - ERP integration, SSO, on-premise deployment, dedicated account management - is now an optional add-on on top of Ultimate, so you only pay for what you actually need.
Attendance & workforce
What attendance tracking methods does INDPayroll support?
Six in total - from basic web check-in (on every plan) up to mobile and web-based tracking, geo-tagged attendance, and face & fingerprint recognition on Ultimate. Hardware biometric device sync is available as an add-on.
Do I need special hardware for biometric attendance?
Only for the out-of-box biometric integration add-on, which connects existing punch machines (ZKTeco, ESSL, Hikvision). Face & fingerprint recognition works entirely through the mobile app, with no separate hardware.
Is face & fingerprint recognition attendance included in Ultimate?
It is available as an add-on on top of Ultimate, priced separately. It is not bundled into the base Ultimate plan.
Is the employee self-service portal available in all plans?
Full self-service is exclusive to the Ultimate plan. Free and Essentials include admin-managed profiles without the full employee-facing portal.
Add-ons
What are add-ons and how do they work?
Add-ons are optional upgrades on top of Ultimate - biometric integration, Tally sync or multi-organisation management, for example - priced separately, so you only pay for what your team actually needs.
Can I add multiple add-ons to my plan?
Yes. Add-ons are independent of each other, so you can combine as many as you need.
Can I cancel an add-on anytime?
Yes. Monthly and yearly add-ons can be cancelled at any time. One-time setup fees, such as biometric hardware integration, are non-recurring by nature.
Is ERP integration available?
Yes, through the ERP Bridge add-on (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics). Because every ERP setup differs, this is custom-quoted rather than a flat listed price.
Security & deployment
Is my payroll data secure?
Yes. INDPayroll is ISO 27001 certified and uses bank-grade encryption to protect employee and payroll data.
Where is INDPayroll data hosted?
All data is hosted within India, which meets data residency requirements for Indian businesses and government-adjacent organisations.
Is on-premise deployment available?
Not currently. INDPayroll is a cloud-only platform. For teams with strict infrastructure requirements, talk to sales about your specific needs.
Do you support SSO/SAML login?
Yes. SSO and SAML integration is available as an Ultimate add-on, supporting Google, Microsoft and Okta.
